Summer 2023 will mark the 22nd anniversary of the traditional Cassoulet Festival! On the menu, 5 days of celebration in the heart of the city, from August 16 to 20: a break where gourmets, partygoers and sportspeople come together for a moment of conviviality.

At the origins of the festival

At the dawn of the 2000s, the initiative for this highlight was the work of several local actors.

So, the Great Brotherhood of Cassoulet, CROC (association bringing together rugby and Chaurien football), the farmers of the FDSEA of Aude and City of Castelnaudary join forces each year to make this friendly break last over time, today grouped under the Cassoulet Festival Organizing Committee.

The idea being to highlight the cassoulet from Castelnaudary around an event festive transgenerational while boosting local commerce. Supporting local producers, caterers and restaurateurs are important issues for the region. 40 cassoulets are thus consumed and sold during these 5 days! So, does it make you dizzy? Come and see for yourself what the Castelnaudary Cassoulet Festival looks like!

The unmissable event in Ouest-Lauragais

75 curious visitors in 000

Du 16 at August 20, Castelnaudary is undoubtedly the place to go! Each year, the event attracts a growing number of visitors, with 75 000 participants on the 2022 edition! An ever more demanding public in search of sharing, discovery and... celebration of course!

You've been waiting for it: here is the 2023 program!

The first day, Wednesday August 16, will begin with the legendary Round of Cassoulet at the end of the day, at the start of the Cours de la République, enough to get the party off to a good start! The official inauguration announces the start of the Place de la République party with the traditional throwing of keys and musical strolls with bandas. In the following days, many shows and concerts will be held in the Chaurian city. The cassoulet party will end as usual with the Corso Fleuri : 10 floats will wander through the heart of the city alongside the bandas, the Grande Confrérie du Cassoulet and the Majorettes.

And to taste our cassoulet national, meet at the Halle aux Gains, on the Place de la Liberté and at the Boulodrome with menus concocted especially for the occasion!
