Rowing tempts you.
You have decided to take the plunge and join a club. However, you have many questions about our sport and how you will meet it.
You can start rowing at any age. The clubs generally welcome children from 11 years old (youngest category). Adults often start practicing in the “leisure” section of clubs.
Most often, the first outings are done in a yolette with four rowers and a coxswain. These are stable learning boats, because they are quite wide, but which have the same facilities as the competition boats. Having a coxswain frees the rowers from managing their direction: they can therefore concentrate more easily on the practice itself.
