Connecting the Pyrenees and the Vosges by a long diagonal of 1537 km, the GR7 is the longest long-distance hiking trail in France. Starting from Fanjeaux, this local section detaches from the Chemin du Piémont Pyrénées leading to Compostela (GR 78) to head towards the Canal du Midi, the Montagne Noire and cross the Massif Central and its Regional Natural Parks.
