During the 1830s, when a wave of cholera epidemic ravaged France, Castelnaudary and Lauragais were particularly affected. Counting many deaths in the area, and fearing being contaminated, the parishioners of Laurabuc will, with Father Prosper de Bize, promise to build a calvary if they were spared. This is how, going through illness, the families of the village united to finance this work composed of 14 stations of the Way of the Cross. At the top of the calvary is a chapel from 1871 joined by 3 large crosses erected in 1885.
